Wellbeing

How symptoms, emotions and everyday life have changed over time.

Wellbeing

How symptoms, emotions and everyday life have changed over time.

We look at how wellbeing has developed—not only how things feel today. When did the change begin, what was happening around that time, and have there been periods when things felt better? Patterns over time often reveal more than a single moment.

Sleep

Sleep can affect wellbeing, energy and the ability to manage everyday life.

Sleep difficulties can both cause and intensify psychiatric symptoms. We consider falling asleep, waking during the night, circadian rhythm and screen habits—and what was happening in life when sleep began to change.

Family

The family situation can provide important insight into both strain and support.

Home life, sibling relationships, separations and the family’s own pressures always affect the overall picture. At the same time, the family is often the most important source of support. We explore both aspects without looking for blame.

School

School or work often shows where difficulties arise and what is working well.

School is where demands meet ability. Absence, conflict, concentration difficulties or falling results may be symptoms rather than the cause. We also talk about what is actually working there.

Relationships

Relationships and social context are an important part of the overall picture.

Friendships, isolation, bullying or difficulty interpreting social situations can underlie much of what appears on the surface. We explore the social world from the child’s or young person’s perspective.

Medication

Previous and current medication needs to be understood in context.

Has medication been tried—did it help, and if so, with what? Side effects, dosages and timing are important pieces of the puzzle. As a physician, Sven can provide a comprehensive medical review of the full medication history.

Activity

Movement, routines and recovery may all be relevant to the assessment.

Physical activity, interests and everyday routines reflect both energy and wellbeing. When activities that used to be enjoyable disappear, it is often an important signal that deserves attention.

Nutrition

Eating habits and physical health may need to be considered alongside other factors.

Eating behaviour, appetite and physical health are closely connected to mental wellbeing. Changes in weight, selective eating or physical symptoms may be parts of the picture that need to be taken seriously.

Questions before first contact

Who can arrange an initial call?

Parents, families and individuals looking for initial guidance about a situation are welcome to get in touch. The call is used to understand the question and assess whether Sven may be the right person to help further.

What happens at the first appointment?

You can describe the current situation, previous care and what you hope to understand. Sven asks questions to form a broader medical picture and discusses possible next steps.

Can I seek a second opinion?

Yes. A new medical assessment may be helpful when a previous explanation or treatment has left important questions unanswered.

Can Sven assess medication?

Questions about previous or current medication can form part of the overall medical assessment. No decisions can be described in advance; they must be based on the individual situation.

Do I need to live in Stockholm?

No. The practice is located near Karlaplan in Stockholm, and the first appointment always takes place in person. After that, further appointments may take place digitally or by telephone when appropriate. Sven sees people from across Sweden and the Nordic countries.
